Strata explores the desert landscapes of Arizona and Utah, where the rock has evidence of a much older world reacheing back almost 1.8 billion years. What is now dry desert was once shaped by ancient seas and rivers. Over time, those layers hardened into stone, leaving behind the sandstone forms we see today.

I was drawn to these visible layers. The colours and lines in the rock are what remain of that change. Reds and oranges come from iron in the stone, while lighter bands show shifts in minerals and weathering. These details may seem small, but they reveal a much larger story of time and transformation.
