Unearth

-

Unearth is a photographic series that centers on the geological wonderland of Yellowstone National Park, which is home to a dynamic interplay between the frozen world above and the fiery geothermal activity that lies beneath the surface. This series captures the tension between these colliding forces, which makes the landscape of Yellowstone so striking and unique. The images were captured in sub-zero temperatures, with some as low as -35 degrees Celsius. Photographing in these extreme conditions was a challenging and awe-inspiring experience. It allowed me to explore the quiet and mystical frozen world of Yellowstone, which is both beautiful and otherworldly. Yellowstone's environment is a collision of extreme temperatures that result in some of the most spectacular natural phenomena in the world. The geysers, hot springs, and mud pots are all representations of the many ways that fire meets ice. The contrast between the frozen landscape and the vibrant colours and textures created by the geothermal activity below the surface is both dramatic and captivating.
